Winterland 77 Complete Recordings vs. May 77 |
what do you think is the better release? I have the May 77 release which sounds phenomenal and has piqued my curiosity in the Winterland release as I have never heard those shows

Slightly different feel than the Spring tour . Maybe a little tougher ? 77 experts might define it better than I . The sound is just slightly a notch below that Spring box, but is it still good . And some fine music there !

Re: Winterland 77 Complete Recordings vs. May 77 |
+11 on H>S>F from 6/9/77
Franklin's was the first tune in my half marathon playlist. It was an unconscious 9:00-9:15 pace to work out the legs and shake stuff into place for the next 11 miles.
Always used the 5/8 Scarlet>Fire to break through the mile 7-9 wall. Something about the tempo of that performance that allowed my mind to stop messing with my legs....and vice versa. After the first wall train wreck, once I switched to Scar>Fire, I blew through the wall without even knowing it.

I'm no athlete by any means but I used to love walking to 3/19/77's Eyes>Dancin'. The tempo is consistent and just perfect pacing for a brisk 25 minute or so walk. Everything synchs up, it's almost like Dancing. Then again, I'm not much of a dancer so any movement to me is dancing.

Re: Winterland 77 Complete Recordings vs. May 77 |
One of those three shows is kind of weak, relatively speaking. I think 6/7. 6/8 is also great, but 6/9 is the gold standard, maybe for the entire year. Second set is smooth like butter.
